Lean Phase Pneumatic Conveying System
The pneumatic conveying system conveyed
coke from a number of hoppers on the shop floor to a bunker
before it was re-graded
through a fluidised bed deduster and sieves. The efficient
operation of the facility required the conveying system to
keep running near its maximum capacity.
To achieve this required
the control system to prioritise the hoppers depending on
the rate of the coke being loaded into them. This was achieved
using an Allen Bradley PLC together with level sensors in
the hoppers and software to provide a control system that
was self tuning.
